In the 6-Series, mini-LED tech enables high brightness, while a quantum dot layer enhances color reproduction, and full array local dimming processing creates deep and detailed shadows. Available in 55- to 85-inch screen sizes, the new 6-Series arrived in late 2022, and it offers not just movie fans but gamers on a budget a great big-screen option. TCL’s 6-Series TVs are known for their combination of impressive picture quality and high value, and the latest version of the company’s flagship not just continues that tradition, but improves upon it. We think it's the best 55-inch TV for most people. The LG C2 showcases everything we love about OLED technology, with excellent brightness and contrast levels and great gaming features. Color saturation is rich and realistic, and there are features to address burn-in and image retention to ensure that your TV lasts longer. LG's excellent webOS smart TV platform continues to impress, there's best-in-class connectivity from four HDMI 2.1 ports that all support 4K 120Hz – so it's totally future-proof for gamers – and wonderful contrast no matter what you're watching. While we weren’t convinced by the claims of virtual surround sound, the audio performance is good for a thin TV, and a number of different sound modes means you should be able to find an audio profile that suits your needs. As well as that, you’re getting ‘virtual surround sound’, with the TV upscaling stereo content into 7.1.2-channel sound. The Alpha a9 Gen 5 processor is designed to offer excellent object enhancement and dynamic tone mapping for more real-looking images.

I have an M1 Mac mini (Big Sur) running on our network as a household file server, among other things. Attempts to connect to ‘miniserver’ from a Finder window on the MBA are problematic. The miniserver appears in the list of locations in the sidebar of a Monterey finder window (as it should). Clicking on miniserver displays Connecting… at the top of the Finder window. This usually fails after 30s (with Connection Failed), but I’ve seen it take as long as 4:30 to timeout and report failure.Īnother way of connecting is with the Connect as button at upper-right of the Finder window. This solicits the Name and Password pop-up window to establish the connection, which then usually fails with an error box: “ There was a problem connecting to miniserver. Occasionally, after 10-20 seconds, the list of available volumes available on miniserver will appear. If I then select one with a double-click, it generally take 30 seconds before the list of files & folders on the volume appears. While investigating this headache, I found that I can successfully connect using Finder/Go/Connect to Server… (Cmd-K shortcut), and then entering smb://192.168.1.6 (the IP of the Mac mini). Or smb://miniserver.local (the miniserver’s mDNS name). I contacted Apple support, and eventually made my way through the AppleCare gauntlet to a Senior Advisor who took an interest. He had me install their Capture Data utility on both machines, and use it to capture detailed logs from the MBA and the Mac mini simultaneously while attempting a connection. He apparently sent the massive log files off to Engineering, but no insight was obtained. He eventually suggested that I boot the MBAir into the Recovery partition and re-install Monterey from scratch. That odyssey took over 24 hours to download the 14.3 installer (over my 500 Mbps fibre connection)! Parenthetically, I’ve determined why the download from Apple’s update server was so sluggish. In any event, the re-install of Monterey made no difference. Nor did the recent update to 14.3.1 (an 8-hour download ordeal). I’m pretty sure that this is a Monterey issue. My wife’s MBAir (still on 14.3) exhibits the same problem. I already tried this answer but it still doesn't let me write as non-rootĮdit: This is the command I used to mount the drive (just with different folder names and IP address): sudo mount -t cifs -o rw,vers=3.0,credentials=/root/.examplecredentials //192.168.18.WiFi coverage is a pair of Unifi 802.11ac access points, one upstairs, one downstairs. However, an Early-2015 MBAir running Mojave handles file sharing connections to the Mac mini just fine. Is this a credentials thing or am I missing something? I already used chmod and added full access to the folder but it still won't work. If I sudo touch file.txt then the file will be created and added. (NoPermissions (FileSystemError): Error: EACCES: permission denied, 'vscode-remote://localhost:8080/home/user/repository/test' When I try to add files with the same credentials on Windows it does work though. Unfortunately when I try to add a file it gives me an error that I do not have permissions to read/write to that folder. I'm trying to setup a code-server (vscode in browser) instance and read/write from a mounted samba share. I remember walking into the gym and picking up a pair of dumbbells to do some incline bench presses, and being aware of my huge gut which was peeking out from under my too-small tee shirt. It was comparable to having a large, winter jacket on all the time.Ģ005 was going to be the year I turned it all around. I was carrying about 80 pounds of excess fat– no wonder I was always sweating. Even sitting down to dinner would cause me to have to wipe my face with a napkin. Doing any sort of activity would cause me to break out into a soaking sweat. That was probably the most humiliating part. I had constant heartburn, asthma, allergies, and I was sick often. I had eaten myself into a situation where I had gained around a pound of fat per week.Īll of a sudden, I understood why I felt so shitty. I had gained 33 pounds of fat in 8 months. The first time I weighed myself on the gym’s scale, an unreal number stared back at me. I was getting married in July of that year, and I was determined to not be the “fat groom with a beautiful wife”. I didn’t realize it at the time, but our high school and college coaches were woefully under trained in how to properly lift.īut I gave it my best shot. I played baseball for a few years at Eastern Michigan, and we had spent some time pumping iron during the offseasons. The time when we all take a look at ourselves and try to embark on the path to self-improvement. This was to be expected the gym was brand new and it was the busiest time of the year. I wandered into my new gym shortly after the new year in 2005. We went the next day and signed the paperwork. “Hey, honey,” I said to Kate, “ You wanna go sign up at that new gym that just opened up? I think it’s time to start working out again.” I lifted my shirt and looked at my muffin top pouring over the belt line. They barely buttoned up – and they were a 42″ waist. Grandma had gotten my waist measurement from my Mom. My grandma had sent me a pair of khakis via Fed Ex as a Christmas gift. The final straw came when I received a package in the mail. By Christmas, I had no clue what I weighed, as we didn’t own a scale, but I knew it wasn’t good. I had graduated weighing about 250 pounds. Which often meant having a bag of chips by my side as I watched television. So, what did I do when faced with the extra time? I went from working retail 20 hours per week and student teaching 40 hours per week to just working my normal job. I actually found myself with more time on my hands than I did during my senior year. I no longer had classes to walk to, papers and projects to complete at night, and the stress of the university to keep me busy. It didn’t take long for the pounds to pile on. I got a strange kick out of waking up in the morning, working my 8 hours, and driving home to spend time with my fiance in our first “real” apartment. I was excited to be a part of the “working class”. I had graduated from college 8 months prior and had started my career as a 6th grade teacher. Spending time in this area caused the Knight to lose their memories, but being there did give them a certain resilience. Įventually, the Knight ended up wandering outside of Hallownest for unknown reasons. Sometime after this, despite the entrance being sealed, the Knight and some of their siblings managed to escape the Abyss. The entrance to the Abyss was sealed, causing the Knight to fall back down. Īfter climbing out of their birthplace in the Abyss, the Knight witnessed their sibling, the Hollow Knight, being taken out of the Abyss by the Pale King. Like the rest of their Vessel siblings, the Knight is genderless. Hornet is the Knight's sister through their shared father. They are the child of the Pale King and the White Lady, born in the Abyss with Void inside their shell. Alex Stadnik of Game Informer called it a "gorgeous homage".The Knight is a discarded Vessel. Thomas Whitehead of Nintendo Life stated that he was ultimately "left excited" by the game after playing the demo, calling it an "excellent return" for the studio after making numerous spin-offs. Stating that he was "very impressed" with the game's demo, he called the mechanic of diving into the ground "unusual", but stated that he quickly got used to it as a natural part of gameplay. Will Greenwald of PCMag called the game ambitious in a preview, comparing it to " Castlevania meets Zelda" and describing the presentation as "charming". The score is being composed by Jake Kaufman, with two guest tracks from Yuzo Koshiro. The gameplay and story draws influences from such games as Castlevania, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and Bloodborne. The developers' interest in scary stories and horror games, as well as creating the darker-in-tone Specter of Torment downloadable content for Shovel Knight, is what inspired them to create a darker game. The lone exception to this philosophy is the game's widescreen resolution. In an attempt to pay homage to early portable gaming and remain as authentic as possible to the original Game Boy hardware, Mina abides by the technical limitations of the Game Boy, containing no 3D assets and limiting pixel design to four colours per tile. This stylistic decision was made while still a side project for Faulkner, inspired by a slew of Game Boy games he had been playing in his personal time. Mina the Hollower was designed to mimic the visual appearance of a Game Boy Color title. A Kickstarter campaign was launched to support development, which raised over US$1.2 million from 21,439 backers including other sources of crowdfunding, the game raised over USD$1.4 million for the studio. Development on the solo affair, now under the name Gothic, caught the attention of Yacht Club management, who viewed the title as a favourable pairing to the studio's flagship Shovel Knight series. Mina the Hollower originally began as a side project by Yacht Club Games employee Alec Faulkner to hone his coding and artistic capabilities, and was not originally intended for commercial release. Standing in her way is Thorne, a bat who was the former head of Lionel's guard before he and his shock troopers betrayed the Baron and destroyed the generators. She travels to Tenebrous Isle, home of Baron Lionel, a wealthy lion who has been Mina's patron in installing her technology on the isle, leading to rapid development. She wields a whip, Nightstar, as a weapon. She is a Hollower, a member of a guild dedicated to studying the Earth, and can move extremely fast while underground using a technique known as hollowing. The game's main character is Mina, a genius inventor and mouse who has created advances in Spark Technology. One of the levels is Nox's Bayou, a poisonous swamp containing one of the generators. The main setting is Tenebrous Isle, whose only major city is Ossex. The game takes place in a gothic horror-inspired world of anthropomorphic animals. Trinkets can be equipped to provide permanent navigational abilities. Mina is able to use sidearms like a hatchet and dagger, although she can only hold one at a time. Tunneling makes her invincible while she is performing the action. The game is in a 3/4 isometric perspective, with Mina able to attack in four directions using her whip, or burrow underground to traverse short distances quickly as well as cross gaps. Gameplay The protagonist fighting an enemy with the whip. The game revolves around Mina, a skilled inventor and "Hollower" who travels to Tenebrous Isle to discover why the Spark Generators she invented to power the island have gone out. “Once you know your skin's undertone, you can start looking for polishes in a variety of shades with tones that match your undertone,” she says. Malarkey tells us blueish and purple veins have a cool undertone, green has warm, and a combination has neutral. Founder of JINSoon Nails, Jin Soon Choi, tags on that those with fair skin tend to have cooler undertones, olive to medium will lean toward warm, and people with darker skin often have neutral undertones.īut to know for sure, flip over your forearm and look at your veins. The first step to getting those fresh, glowy nails promised by Instagram is determining what color will enhance your skin’s undertones, which, according to Laura Malarkey, a Los-Angeles based nail artist, are either neutral, warm, or cool. | Cruelty-Free: Yesįor the same reason you can’t steal your friend’s lipstick and expect similar results, undertones make all the difference when choosing nude nail polish. But since the coverage is sheer to begin with, we’re pleased to report that chips, for the most part, go unnoticed.įinish: Glossy | Shade: Sheer chocolate with neutral tones | Size: 0.4 oz. Note that because the lacquer is thin, it is more likely to chip than other options. It also is chock full of repairing ingredients like vitamin E, tea tree oil, and arginine (a strengthening amino acid), so your nails become stronger with wear. This polish doesn’t just look natural, though. Similar to a tinted skin moisturizer, it evens out nail color without being too heavy for an elevated take on a basic manicure. The luxurious dark brown prevents skin from looking dull or washed out the way lighter shades might, and its sheer finish gives nails a crisp, clean look. To avoid mannequin hands (think: Matching skin and nail color), deep skin with warm undertones should opt for a rich hue - like this chocolatey shade from Butter London.
